Naturopathic medicine is centered around treating the underlying cause using the least invasive natural tools available. This philosophy extends beautifully into skincare, where most beauty products typically focus on achieving one specific outcome for the skin without considering all skincare goals. You might need one product for moisture, another for photoprotection, yet another for toning, and still another for reducing the appearance of fine lines. As a result, we’re left to build a complicated skincare routine using several (often expensive) products. This layering process often results in applying upwards of 50 different ingredients (most of which are synthetic) on our skin to absorb.

I firmly believe that the naturopathic approach is the only rational approach to beauty. One pattern I quickly recognized while studying Date Palm Pollen was how it behaved similarly to many other botanical substances I use in my practice in that it has a propensity to do more than one job. And this is no coincidence. Botanicals behave very differently than synthetic chemicals. They exist in nature to help a plant survive against all odds, and so they often hold many benefits for living organisms. Synthetic chemicals, on the other hand, are engineered to achieve specific goals in formulations. When you use products with natural ingredients, you get more beauty bang for your buck.

The beauty industry often churns out skincare products in a manner similar to how the pharmaceutical industry churns out drugs to treat symptoms and illness. Many skincare brands focus on addressing individual skin issues with separate products, leading to complex routines and increased exposure to synthetic chemicals. This approach overlooks the holistic benefits that natural ingredients can provide.

Contrary to many other skincare brands, we didn’t actually set out to create a skincare product. We were just a family interested in science and nature. We studied the properties of Date Palm Pollen for over 12 years. Once we saw what it offered, an effective skincare product was immediately born. DPP would be the centerpiece of the formulation.
